About

Strategic Growth Expert | Nonprofit Leader | Entrepreneurial Thinker | Community Builder

I’m Robin Crowder, a consultant with a career rooted in driving impact through strategic growth, stakeholder engagement, and community-building. My work spans sectors—nonprofit, real estate, healthcare, food systems, and more—but the throughline has always been the same: unlocking potential and creating meaningful change.

Whether it's generating aggressive revenue for real estate partnerships, addressing health disparities through place-based entrepreneurial initiatives, or tackling climate change by investing in the local food economy—I bring curiosity, clarity, and a bias for action to every challenge.

I have a deep passion for creative ideas, entrepreneurial ventures, and behavior change strategies that drive both mission and revenue. I specialize in revitalizing organizations, transforming stalled initiatives, and building demand through innovative programs and high-impact marketing. I am especially good at helping businesses create unique value propositions no matter whether they are creating CPG’s, providing services, conducting manufacturing, operating retail or restaurant establishments or working in other fields. My work thrives in collaborative, fast-moving environments where strategy meets execution.

At 21 Acres Center for Local Food, I led organization-wide strategic planning, launched two multi-million-dollar food hubs, and revitalized a struggling retail grocer—overhauling operations and increasing sales by more than 50% in one year. I’ve helped solve complex value-chain challenges and stayed grounded in place-based, community-centered solutions.

At the University of North Carolina, I directed research and entrepreneurial projects focused on local food systems and health disparities. I led the "Linking Local Sustainable Farming and Health" Innovation Lab, connecting food systems to public health, faith-based communities, sustainability, and economic development. My work has supported major grants in agriculture, food justice, and community-based research.

I’ve also managed commercial real estate developments in healthcare, revitalized a struggling national education foundation, grew membership dues and created non dues revenue mechanisms for trade associations, redesigned restaurants and retail stores, professionalized operations for farmers markets, consulted with mission-driven organizations, and built successful sales teams.

When I identified a gap in statewide communications among women across the local food economy, I founded Washington Women in Food Systems. This group of 500+ women across the state is building networks to foster information sharing and collaboration.

Across it all, I’ve remained committed to community building, environmental resilience, strong ROI, and ventures that spark change.
